A website that earns its keep
Most marketing sites are judged on how they look in a pitch deck and never again. We build them to be measured: fast on a mid-range phone, usable with a screen reader, and wired up so you can see exactly which pages make money. If you are paying for traffic, this is where that money is won or quietly lost.
The numbers your site is judged on
Every figure below is linked to its source, including the dates, because a few of the speed statistics agencies still quote are almost a decade old.
of web traffic is now mobile, while desktop still converts 74% higher. Most sites are busiest on the device they handle worst.
Contentsquare, March 2026, 99 billion sessionsof mobile origins pass all three Core Web Vitals. On desktop it is 56%. Largest Contentful Paint is the one most sites fail.
HTTP Archive Web Almanac 2025retail conversion rate from a 0.1 second improvement in mobile load time, with average order value up 9.2%. Worth knowing this study was published in 2020 on 2019 data.
Google with Deloitte, Milliseconds Make Millions, 2020of the top million home pages had detectable WCAG failures, averaging 56.1 errors per page. Low contrast text and missing alt text lead the list.
WebAIM Million, February 2026What we build in
Performance budgets
Targets set before a line is written. Largest Contentful Paint under 2.5s, Interaction to Next Paint under 200ms, Cumulative Layout Shift under 0.1, measured at the 75th percentile of real visits.
Accessibility
WCAG 2.2 AA as a build standard. Contrast, labels, alt text and keyboard paths handled during the build rather than patched after a complaint.
Measurement wired in
Analytics, tag manager, conversion events and server-side tracking configured on day one, so the site can prove what it is doing.
Search and answer engines
Clean markup, structured data and a crawlable architecture, built alongside the SEO work rather than bolted on later.
CMS your team can use
Editable content without a developer in the loop. If publishing a page requires a ticket, the site will go stale.
Migration without losses
Redirect mapping, parity checks and rank monitoring through cutover, because most traffic collapses after a rebuild are avoidable.
The standard we build to
Google's Core Web Vitals thresholds are public and specific. Largest Contentful Paint at 2.5 seconds or less, Interaction to Next Paint at 200 milliseconds or less, Cumulative Layout Shift at 0.1 or less. The part most agencies get wrong is the qualifying rule: you have to hit those at the 75th percentile of real page loads, measured separately on mobile and desktop. An average does not count, and neither does a green score on the developer's laptop.
Note that Interaction to Next Paint replaced First Input Delay in March 2024. If your last performance report still talks about FID, it predates the current standard.
How we work
Audit
Real user performance data, accessibility scan, analytics integrity and a list of the specific pages losing the most money today.
Architecture
Templates, URL structure, content model and tracking plan agreed before design starts, so SEO and analytics are not retrofitted.
Design and build
Built mobile first against the performance budget. Every component gets checked on a mid-range phone, which is the device most of your visitors are actually holding.
Test
Cross-device, assistive technology, form and checkout paths, plus field data from real visits rather than lab scores alone.
Launch and watch
Redirects verified, rankings and Core Web Vitals monitored through the first weeks, and fixes shipped while it still matters.
Web development questions
What do you build on?
We pick the stack around the job. Most marketing sites are best served by a fast static or hybrid framework such as Astro or Next.js with a CMS your team can actually edit. WordPress and Shopify are the right answer for plenty of businesses, particularly in ecommerce, and we work in both. We do not have one platform we push regardless of fit, because that decision usually serves the agency rather than the client.
Why do Core Web Vitals matter if my rankings are fine?
Two reasons. Google uses them as a ranking signal, so they matter at the margin. The bigger reason is commercial. Google and Deloitte measured a 0.1 second mobile speed improvement producing an 8.4% lift in retail conversion rate in their 2020 study. Mobile is now about 70% of traffic and converts far worse than desktop, so speed on phones is usually the cheapest conversion work available to you.
Is accessibility a legal risk or a nice to have?
Both, and it is a commercial issue before it is a legal one. WebAIM found detectable WCAG failures on 95.9% of the top million home pages in February 2026, and the most common problems are contrast, missing alt text and unlabelled form fields, all of which are design-layer issues that also hurt ordinary users. On the legal side, the accessibility vendor UsableNet counted more than 5,000 US digital accessibility lawsuits in 2025 with ecommerce making up close to 70%. They sell remediation services, so treat the number as an interested party reporting it, but the direction is not in dispute. We build to WCAG 2.2 AA regardless.
Will a rebuild hurt my search rankings?
It can, and that is nearly always a process failure rather than bad luck. Traffic drops at relaunch usually trace back to missing redirects, changed URL structures, dropped metadata or content quietly cut during design. We map redirects before launch, check parity page by page, and monitor rankings through cutover so a problem gets caught in days instead of at the end of the quarter.
Can you work with our existing site instead of rebuilding?
Often, yes, and we will say so when it is the better call. Plenty of sites need a performance and conversion overhaul rather than a rebuild. A rebuild makes sense when the platform blocks the work, when the content model cannot support what you need to publish, or when the cost of maintaining the current build exceeds replacing it.
Do you maintain the site after launch?
Yes. Ongoing performance monitoring, accessibility checks, updates and iterative conversion work. Sites decay. Pages get added, scripts pile up, and the speed you paid for erodes within a year if nobody is watching.
